YISHUN TOP TEN MUST TRY LIST

MY KAMPUNG, YISHUN JUNCTION 9
CHICKEN RICE STALL

in this mini cafeteria, there are few choices less than 6 stalls. however, most of the stall are awesome EXCEPT! the dim sum (which located at the corner side) let's start from this, normal looking halal chicken rice. usually people will think halal food don't really taste that good. however, this is an exceptional case okay? the rice aromatic will makes you drool as if a pretty bosom woman walk past you! the rice are fluffy (which i love it so much!) and soft! amazingly good! the chicken is succulent and the soup are pretty peppery and tasty. lastly, the chili is not so significantly power but overall still not bad and able to blend well with the rest. look at the skin itself is enough to make you queue up for your next food hunt, i guess?

291 BAK CHOR MEE , Blk 293 YISHUN STREET 22 (NORTH)

in order not to confuse you which coffeeshop, let me direct you through that area will be good. why? because this Blk 293 @ Yishun Street 22 is a round - about block even with coffeeshop name you can't locate it at the first try so in order to save the time looking up and down high and low before your lunch hour is over let me do the job for you! its in front of POSB branch. another landmark is the nearest bus stop along from the bakery shop till the end of a small mama shop make a right turn and TADAH! there it is. okay! let's get back on track. their mee pok is not your typical mee pok. it's ah guan kinda mee pok (if you tried before) that are much more finer and thicker version. i love this mee pok so much!! their condiments are indeed a home - made signature chili that will blow your mind away. i believe they are using hay bee to enhance the fragrance , add on the kick and its quite spicy ( which i love it too! ) their ingredients are generous with their mince pork, well seasoned slice pork , pork liver , pork meatballs and braise premium oriental mushrooms. with all these awesome character combination, i have to say, this is a truly AVENGERS Bak Chor Mee within Yishun. my highest recommendation BCM if you are around this area and please! be patience to wait because the queue is quite long during lunch time. good things worth to wait, right? well.. play some candy crush then..

BLK 233 YISHUN STREET 21 , CHOH DEE PLACE COFFEESHOP (NORTH)

CHINESE MIX RICE STALL

in this coffeeshop, i had tried all from western , korean , fishball noodles , chicken rice, cze char to dim sum, this chinese mix rice (i know its a norm stall for all typical coffeeshop) however, for a various type of food in a mini plate like this? it just all for $5! the deep fried chicken drumstick is my ultimate favourite and mind you! its not everyday they had it okay? it so nice to munch away the crispy yet tasty chicken skin! i know it's super unhealthy ( like what my motto say, eat first, diet later!) Ha! my standard order are, the mighty deep fried chicken drumstick, deep fried tofu with mince pork oyster sauce, stir - fried dice chicken lastly curry veggies and a swimming pool of curry gravy! Ha! i had tried all Zup Cai Png stalls around these region area but no stalls and no way can beat this! one of my top 10 in Yishun Must - Try List!

CHICKEN MASALA AND MUTTON RENDANG , SHAMI BANANA LEAF
BASEMENT FOOD COURT, YISHUN NORTHPOINT BASEMENT (NORTH)

before i try, its someone top 10 must try list. for more than 5 food blogger, mention this is their top 10. i know i have to try it myself. INDEED! it's so good and kinda expensive. per serving is $8. the masala chicken is douse in their secret recipe gravy. which makes me go back again every friday night. the gravy drizzling all over the briyani with a mega piece of masala chicken is a wonderful night to spend with. its mild spicy but the chicken is tenderising with a soft texture. easily to chew. even old aunties and uncles came to patronise this stall too! there's 2 type, either chicken breast or chicken drumstick. as a typical singaporean, i chose the chicken breast part. because it looks bigger and more worth the price. Ha! with generous serving of the rice, you could skip your lunch as well.

the first picture top right is the mutton slab. there are muttons cube version too (bottom picture) their muttons is nice and power too! rather highest level of spiciness compare among of the rest. if i was right and didn't forget, total cost is about $13.80. but?!? its all worth it with the combination of masala chicken and muttons slab / cubes. try to break up the papadum into pieces and mix with the gravy and eat it with the rice and main stars is the best way to have it graciously and no regret.

SIN HENG KEE PORRIDGE , #01-33 YISHUN JUNCTION 9 (NORTH)
OPERATING HOURS: 9AM TO 9PM, TEL NO.  9118 1569

this is a combo set (at least for me!) one mixture of pork porridge. consist of freshly slice pork lean meat, pork ball , pork small intestine and pork liver with half cook fresh an egg (at the side of the bowl) and garnishing with fried onion and green chives and some peppers. done? not yet. a plate of century eggs complemented with sweet ginger slices and bird eye chilis, a mini plate of steam peanut and lastly, a claypot of gongbao frog. done? yes, at last! Ha! this is my super sunday breakfast (if i manage to wake up this early, like 9am or 10am?) the claypot frog gravy are savoury and peppery hot so nice that i nearly order for second round! its a partner dish with the porridge. for all these damage, all for about $21. its worth it for every dollar and cents. main highlights for JUNCTION 9. this stall is somewhere in between 2 maid agency. (it will lead you towards an entrance door to carpark area.) its not so visible if you're first time visit J9.
